Jesper Møller, director of the famous animated feature film Asterix and the Vikings, was also involved in the development of the screenplay. Thanks to his experience, the story could be better crafted for an international audience.

The film was produced by Czech production company Rolling Pictures in an international co-production with Belgium’s Grid Animation and Russia’s KinoAtis. The Czech post-production and visual effects studio Progressivefx served as the hub and the link between the two foreign studios.

The animation for Harvie and the Magic Museum was produced at Russian studio KinoAtis. Inna Evlannikova, the studio’s animation director, says "There are many people involved in making a film, and as you say, when you want to make a good movie, you have to love the animation." After the animation was completed, the work continued at Belgium’s Grid Animation.

Grid Animation completed the work of lighting, rendering, compositing and adding effects to the animation. Jan Goosen, owner of the company, said, "When we saw the art style of the film, we fell in love with it. A good story, it makes every movie unique. And I think it's a good story, but what we really loved that we managed to bring the atmosphere of Prague into the movie. The way how it looks, how it was designed had an effect on the overall design of the film, which was really exceptional for me. "
